Humane's AI Pin to start shipping in March
In today's context, Humane's AI pin is probably the first device where I see personal computing heading towards.
Humane will start shipping orders of its AI Pin device based on the date of purchase starting in Match. The AI Pin can respond to user queries using a range of AI services without forcing users to look at a screen. It features a projection system that can display things for users to interact with on their hands. Prices for the AI Pin start at $699 and it requires a $24 per month subscription for a phone number and cellular data.
Based on what this can do, it's a good price for both the device and the monthly subscription plan.
Imran Chaudhri
If you aren't aware, the co-founder Imran Chaudhri is ex-Apple, and also someone who closely worked on the iPhone. What strikes me is his homepage that shows 1,000 randomly selected patents from 1995 to 2017.
This tells me that the Humane Pin is well patented and protected. Reminds me of the famous Steve Jobs quote from the iPhone event in 2007:
"Boy, have we patented this device!"
But, is this really the device of the future? Time will tell.
